Machinery of Government changesOn 18 September 2013, the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism was abolished.
Resources and Energy
The department’s Resources and Energy functions have been transferred to the Department of Industry. The Secretary of the Department of Industry is Ms Glenys Beauchamp PSM.
On 3 October 2013, responsibility for tourism policy, programs and research transferred to Austrade.
Tourism Australia remains a separate statutory authority with primary responsibility for the international marketing of Australian tourism, reporting to the Minister for Trade and Investment.
